Sub-inspector probing complaint attacked

Ludhiana: Having gone to conduct an inquiry into a complaint, a sub-inspector was allegedly attacked by a resident of Chhawani Mohalla on Saturday evening. Division number 4 police lodged an FIR against the alleged attacker and arrested him on Sunday.
The accused was identified as Jaskaran Singh of Chhawani Mohalla. A case has been registered on the complaint of sub-inspector Balbeer Singh.
Balbeer alleged that police had received a complaint against Jaskaran from Sudesh Kumari of the same locality. After which, he went to the spot and informed Jaskaran about the content of the complaint. On hearing the same, Jaskaran lost his temper and started abusing him.
“The accused punched me in my face after which my turban fell down. The accused tore my uniform. I called more police force at the spot and arrested the accused,” the SI added.
