Lens on ambulance not reaching villages
Bhubaneswar: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has directed the chief secretary of Odisha to take action on a matter related to connecting some villages of Rayagada and Ganjam districts with motorable roads for easy access of ambulances.
The commission on Friday issued this direction after hearing a petition filed by human rights activist Rabindra Kumar Mishra. He alleged that the ambulances could not reach 51 villages in Rayagada district and 40 villages in Ganjam district due to inaccessible roads. The state government will submit its report within eight weeks. TNN
