Kanpur: District administration and the traffic department has imposed curbs on the movement of traffic and made some diversions on some routes to regulate smooth flow of traffic on the occasion of Ganga Mela to be held at Sarsaiya Ghat on Monday.
Apart from diversions, the administration has also fixed parking places for visitors. Due to traffic restrictions, all routes leading to Sarsaiya Ghat and its vicinity will remain closed for traffic movement from 2 pm. on account of the Holi Milan function.
Vehicles will not be allowed to move from Meghdoot trisection towards Sarsaiyya Ghat and instead will be diverted to Bada Chauraha, Kotwali crossing, Parade crossing and then may move towards their destination.
No vehicle will be allowed to move from Green Park to Sarsaiyya Ghat. They will be diverted from MG College crossing to Muir Mill trisection, Bada Chauraha and Chetna Crossing and pass through Vyayamshala and reach the Meghdoot trisection.
Similarly, vehicular movement between Chetna crossing and Sarsaiyya Ghat will remain curbed. The traffic will be diverted to the right side from where it can move towards Vyayam Shala. No vehicle will be allowed to move from Bhagwat Das Ghat to Sarsaiya Ghat.They will be diverted towards Meghdoot trisection from Bhagwat Das Ghat and from there they will move towards Bada Chauraha crossing.
Parking: Vehicles coming from Meghdoot trisection and moving to the mela site may be parked at the Phool Bagh underground parking. People coming from Chetana crossing to Sarsaiyya Ghat can park their vehicles at GNK College ground and then move on foot to the mela site.
Vehicles coming from Green Park crossing can be parked inside the Green Park or at the footpath of the VIP Road. Media persons can park their vehicles in front of the office of executive engineer PWD.
The arrangement of VVIP parking has been made inside the district election office campus.
