Seeman booked for hate speech
Erode: The Karungalpalayam police on Saturday registered a case against Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) chief coordinator Seeman over a speech threatening guest workers last month.
The comments were made on February 13 during a public meeting at Thirunagar Colony, superintendent of police V Sasimohan said.
Police have registered the case under sections 153 (1)(C), 505 (1)(C) and 506 (1), read with 3 (1)(r) of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Amendment Act, 2015.
“Appropriate legal action will be initiated against Seeman and he will be prosecuted,” the SP added.
