RMC resolves over 79k cases in 7 years
Ranchi: The Ranchi Municipal Corporation has resolved over 79,000 grievances of the residents through the Public Grievance Management System (PMGS), which is an online platform of the Directorate of Urban Administration (DMA) for the citizens to lodge their grievances.
The PGMS system allows citizens to submit complaints to the public authorities on any subject pertaining to roads, drains, tax assessment, waterlogging, fogging, streetlights and other issues.
Citizens can report their online grievances via Twitter, WhatsApp, or website on this portal. The DMA forwards these complaints to the municipal corporation, which then resolves them.
The portal has received over 97,761 complaints regarding minor issues such as roads, drainage, dirt and electricity in residential neighbourhoods since 2016 and among them, 79,328 concerned have been resolved, the officials claimed.
Talking to TOI, Mukesh Kumar Jha, state informational education and communication specialist, said, “Since the introduction of the portal in 2016, we have observed that it has been easier for citizens to file complaints and have their issues resolved. However, the settlement period varies depending on the type of complaint.” The toll-free number 1800120299 and the Whatsapp number 7633928444 are available for use by residents of the corporation area. Individuals may also register complaints at info@dmajharkhand.in, pgml.dmajharkhand.in, and Twitter. To lodge a complaint with the company call 9431104429 or 0651-2200011 & 0651-2200025.
