Stock market update: Power stocks down as market rises

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading lower on Monday at 10:04AM

Adani Transmissions(up 5.00%), ADANIGREEN(up 4.99%), Adani Power(up 4.93%), Jyoti Structures(up 2.14%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.24%), DPSC(up 0.84%), Kalpataru Power Transmission(up 0.83%), Torrent Power(up 0.52%) and Indo Tech Transformers(up 0.39%) were among the top gainers.

Karma Energy(down 4.92%), Energy Development Company(down 2.78%), Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(down 2.72%), PTC India(down 2.65%), Indowind Energy(down 2.41%), KPI Green Energy(down 2.32%), Alstom T&D India(down 2.20%), Reliance Power(down 2.18%), Inox wind(down 1.40%) and JSW Energy(down 1.21%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 49.5 points up at 17462.4, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 174.4 points at 59309.53 at around 10:04AM.

Tech Mahindra(up 8.18%), Adani Enterprises(up 2.32%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(up 1.38%), Grasim Industries(up 1.32%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.24%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 1.15%), Hindalco Industries(up 0.94%), Bajaj Finance(up 0.83%), ICICI Bank(up 0.8%) and HDFC Bank(up 0.71%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, IndusInd Bank(down 4.52%), Hero MotoCorp(down 0.99%), Infosys(down 0.98%), Tata Motors(down 0.96%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 0.72%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.71%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 0.58%), Coal India(down 0.53%), Eicher Motors(down 0.45%) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.44%) were trading in the red.
