Budgam murder: People hold protest demanding death sentence for accused

Budgam in Jammu and Kashmir saw protests on Sunday demanding death sentence for a man accused of murdering a woman, whose body parts were found in various locations. J&K police claimed it had cracked the blind murder case with the arrest of a man who murdered the woman. On March 8, Tanveer Ahmad Khan, a resident of the Soibugh area in Budgam had filed a complaint saying his sister Aarifa Shafi had left for some classes on March 7 and had not returned home. Police had rounded up several suspects, including a man named Shabir Ahmad Wani. He confessed to murder, police said. Police said Wani had killed the woman, chopped the body into several pieces and buried the body parts at different locations. After Wani described where he had buried the body part, polioce found the remains of the woman.
