Jaipur: The three protesting widows of the Pulwama terror attack have alleged that they were being treated like prisoners with heavy police cover around their homes. The three women had been sent to their respective places in the wee hours of Friday.
Sundari Gujjar, the widow of martyr Hemraj Meena, alleged in a viral video that she was forcibly pushed inside an ambulance from the protest site in Jaipur. She said police brought her to her house at Sangod in Kota and were not allowing her to come out of the house.
“Hundreds of policemen came and pushed us into the ambulance. They told us that we are taken to hospital for a check-up. I came to know I am in Kota only when I came here. All I want to say is that my husband has laid down his life for the nation. Nobody should be subjected to such atrocity. They should have respected us, but they have insulted us,” said Devi.
Manju Jat, the widow of martyr Rohitashv Lamba, claimed to have been detained in a village in Govindgarh since March 10 morning. She said in a video that her entire family will not sit quietly till the three widows’ demands are met.
“The heavy police cover outside our house is to threaten us and send a message that if we do not toe the government’s line, they will kill us. What have we done for which the government is treating us in this manner? We are with Baba (Kirori Lal Meena), who is fighting for our rights. If anything happens to him, we will never forgive the government,” said Jat.
