All JAC exam centres to have CCTV cameras

RANCHI: The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has completed all preparations for the matriculation and intermediate board examinations that will begin on March 14.
While the Class X exams will begin on March 14 and continue till April 3, Class XII examinations will be held from March 14 till April 5. Question papers, answer sheets and other examination materials have been provided to the districts and kept in confidential strongrooms.
JAC officials said a large police force will be deployed at the examination centres and CCTV cameras have been installed to prevent malpractices. Around eight lakh students will sit for both examinations, which included more than 4,33,000 candidates for the matriculation exam and around 3,34,000 students for the intermediate examination.
In Ranchi, the matriculation examination will be conducted in 102 centres and the intermediate examination in 57 centres. The Ranchi district education officer, Akash Kumar, has instructed the block education office to verify that all facilities are there at the centres. For evaluation of the answer sheets, 14 centres have been identified in the district headquarters.
In Ramgarh, as many as 25,904 students will sit for both examinations beginning Tuesday at 90 centres across the district.
To conduct a transparent, fair and peaceful examination, Ramgarh deputy commissioner Madhavi Mishra on Saturday held a meeting with the officials concerned and directed them to ensure CCTV surveillance at all examination centres and provide basic amenities, which include pure drinking water and properly sanitized toilets, at the centres.
Ramgarh SDO Md Javed Hussain the total number of examinees in the districts included 12,174 intermediate students. "We have imposed prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the CrPC in and around examinations centres, restricting entry of any unauthorised people," he said, adding all exam centre superintendents have been asked to check CCTVs installed in the schools and ensure close vigil of the examinations.
