Dr Dhiren Gupta pediatrician from Ganga Ram hospital talks about the sudden outbreak of H3N2 virus. 'In this season viral infections are not unusual the thing that is unusual is 2 years that went on Covid children were not exposed to influenza because of this immunity was not developed. Due to this, the sudden outbreak of the H3N2 virus is a variant of normal influenza this is called antigenic drift. One of the major things about this is that people are getting confused between swine flu and the influenza virus. Swine flu was new with a virus containing H1N1 that came all of a sudden because of no antibodies in the body the infection was spread in great numbers'.
