Rajkot: 31-year-old Jasdan man’s body with head bludgeoned found in his field

RAJKOT: A 31-year-old man was found dead with his head bludgeoned using a heavy object in Kanesara village of Rajkot’s Jasdan taluka early on Friday.
The victim Mahesh Kukadiya had gone to water his field on Thursday night but did not return home till Friday morning. When his family members went to the farm, they found his body covered with a white cloth.
His body was sent to Rajkot Civil Hospital for forensic postmortem.
Sources in the police department said that the needle of suspicion was on his father Batuk whose mobile phone was switched off since Thursday late night and he was nowhere to be seen in the village.
Police said Batuk had an estranged relationship with his family members that included three sons, including Mahesh, and he lived separately. It is learnt that Batuk used to frequently pick up fights with family members and often consumed liquor.
Mahesh’s mother Rekha lodged a complaint with the Bhadla police station against an unnamed person in connection with her son’s murder. Further investigation in the case was on, said police.
