Mysuru: Various residential areas in the western part of Mysuru will face disruption in power supply between 9am and 6pm on Sunday owing to maintenance works at the distribution centres attached to VV Mohalla and Vijayanagar 66/11 KV stations. Areas to be affected are Gokulam I, II, and III Stages, Mahadeshwara Layout, Vijayanagar 1 and 2 stages, Hinkal, Yadavagiri, Manjunatha Pura, Mahajan Layout, Vontikoppal, ESI Hospital, Hasu Karu park, CFTRI, DC House, Akashvani, Yadavagiri industrial area, Yoga Narasimha Temple, and surrounding areas, according to a release.
‘Create awareness on importance of voting’ Mysuru: Zilla panchayat chief executive officer K M Gayathri directed the officials concerned to create awareness about the importance of voting using different technologies. She was addressing the officials during training for the taluk-level trainers organised by Voters Literacy Organization’s on Friday. “It is the official responsibility to ensure that every eligible voter will participate in the electoral roll. The role of teachers is important and awareness should be created at school level,” she said. Elections are important in a democracy and we are celebrating election festival this year, she said, adding although the process of election is not a new concept, training is a must for officials to ensure free and fair polling. She urged the officials to get their doubts clarified.
