Kanpur: District judge Sandeep Jain recently rejected the bail application of accused Mannu Rahman in the fake Aadhar card and the Foreigners Act case.
According to ADGC Ravindra Awasthi, police had arrested Rizwan Ahmad, a Bangladeshi national and seized a fake Aadhar card and four passports issued by the Bangladesh government from his possession. The seized Aadhar card has two different addresses. The police had also seized two passports issued in the name of Mohd Adeeb. Apart from this, the police had also recovered two Aadhar cards in the name of Rizwana and Hina Khalid, school transfer certificates and a driving license.
The Aadhar cards had been made on the recommendation of Mannu Rahman, a local corporator and local MLA Irfan Solanki. The police had registered cases against Rizwan Mohammad and Hina Rizwan under sections 419/420/467/468/471/120B of IPC and section 13/1 of the Foreigners Act. Cases were also registered under the Foreigners Act against accused Khalid Majeed, Rukhsar, Rizwan, Mohd Arslan and Mohd Adeeb.
The police also submitted a list of 22 criminal cases registered against Mannu Rahman at various police stations of Kanpur.
The ADGC while opposing the bail pleaded that all the accused except Mannu were citizens of Bangladesh and had been residing illegally in India on the basis of fake residence certificates and Aadhar card.
The court in its order observed that a police investigation was going on against the accused Mannu Rahman, who has a criminal history and the offence committed by him was of serious nature which could prove dangerous for the country therefore, his bail application is being rejected. The order was passed on March 4.
