Liquor shops in Kotwali police area to remain closed on Mar 13

Kanpur: The district magistrate Kanpur Nagar Vishak G Iyer on Friday ordered that all liquor shops (country made or foreign), beer, model shop, premier shops and retail shops of ‘bhang’ under Kotwali police area will remain closed on March 13 from morning to evening and there will be no sale of stuff in this period.
The district magistrate passed this order under the powers mentioned in section 59 Excise Act 1910 and with an object to maintain law & order on the Ganga Mela day i.e March 13, 2023. There would be no consideration for liquor license holders for closure of shops.tnn
