Boys basketball roundup: Cros-Lex, Richmond, Cardinal Mooney all capture district titles

Here are some notable results from Friday's boys basketball district finals in the Blue Water Area.

Croswell-Lexington 46, Imlay City 35

Make it four straight district championships for the Pioneers.

Trey Kolakovich dropped a team-high 12 points for Cros-Lex, which improved to 21-3 overall and has won its last 13 games. Donovan McDonald contributed 10 points and Zachary Kroetsch added eight.

The Spartans, which ended the season at 12-12, were led by a game-high 14 points from Zander Nash. Beau Hund chipped in eight points.

Up next for the Pioneers is a Division 2 regional semifinal against Pontiac Notre Dame Prep on Monday. Game time is 5:30 p.m. at Imlay City High School.

Richmond 57, Armada 49

Six days ago, the Blue Devils clinched a share of the BWAC championship. Now they've added a district title to their resume.

D'Quan Haskins scored a game-high 25 points for Richmond, which improved to 22-2 overall. Karl Stevens followed with 17 points. It's the team's second straight district crown.

The Tigers finished the season at 14-10 and were led by Riley Andrews' 15 points.

With the victory, the Blue Devils advanced to Monday's Division 2 regional semifinal against Goodrich. Tipoff is 7 p.m. at Imlay City High School.

Cardinal Mooney 63, Auburn Hills Oakland Christian 44

The 300th coaching win of Mike McAndrews' career couldn't have come at a better time.

Trent Rice led the way with 16 points for the Cardinals, who improved to 13-11 overall. Dominic Cattivera totaled 16 points, Brian Everhart had 12 and Quentin Hillaker added nine. It was Cardinal Mooney's fourth straight district title.

The Cardinals will face Clarkston Everest Collegiate in a Division 4 regional semifinal on Monday. Game time is 7 p.m. at Oakland Christian High School in Auburn Hills.
