Bihar: RJD flays BJP, alleges misuse of central agencies

PATNA: RJD and the Grand Alliance leaders hit out at the central government over the raids conducted by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on the close aides and relatives of RJD chief Lalu Prasad in different parts of the country on Friday in connection with land-for-job scam. Lalu's daughter Rohini Acharya, who is based in Singapore accused the BJP of committing atrocities on her family as the RJD chief has always stood against the fascists. She even compared BJP leaders with the mythological character Kans.
The searches were conducted on the premises linked to Lalu's daughters Ragini Yadav, Chanda Yadav and Hema Yadav and former RJD MLA Abu Dojana in Patna, Phulwarisharif, Delhi-NCR, Ranchi and Mumbai.
RJD Rajya Sabha member and national spokesperson Manoj Jha alleged that the central agencies were being misused by the BJP ever since it was thrown out of power in Bihar. "These agencies have become a butt of joke. They get the script from BJP and act accordingly. In fact, BJP has ruined their image," said Jha.
In a joint statement, RJD state spokespersons Shakti Singh Yadav and Ejaz Ahmad said even in 2017, central agencies in fake cases used to harass the first RJD family. "But they got nothing. They even came up with a fake mall story in Haryana and then faced the backlash. What happened to that Rs80,000 crore scam related to Adani? Recently, Rs8,000 crore was seized from a BJP leader's residence in Karnataka, but BJP kept quiet. Everyone knows that BJP has been misusing the central agencies against its opposition," they said.
Congress legislative party leader Ajeet Sharma condemned the ED raids and said while the leaders close to BJP were being wooed with 'Y+' and Z+ security, those who raised their voice against BJP had to face the brunt of ED, CBI and Income Tax department. "But these raids are not going to help BJP in the upcoming elections. Even people know that these raids are tricks to divert the attention from the main agendas like unemployment and price rise and harass the opposition leaders," he said.
"This injustice will always be remembered.What crime had little children of sisters done? What crime had pregnant sister-in-law committed? Why are all being tortured? They are all being tortured since morning and their only crime is that Lalu-Rabri family has never knelt down before fascist power and riotous people. You will get the reply on time. These things can no more be tolerated," Rohini tweeted. With pregnant woman, she was referring to her brother Tajeshwi Prasad Yadav's wife Rajshree Yadav.
