Can trouble me by putting me in jail, but can't break my spirits, says former Delhi Dy CM Manish Sisodia

Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who is currently lodged in Tihar Jail for his alleged connection in the Delhi excise policy scam, today tweeted that the probe agencies can put him in jail, can trouble him by keeping him in their custody but can’t break his spirit.

The AAP leader further referred to the pre-independence time when the British ruled the country. He tweeted the British also gave trouble to the freedom fighters but their spirits didn’t break, similarly, he will also stand strong.

The tweet comes a day after Sisodia was sent to the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) custody for seven days in the Delhi liquor policy scam. He was arrested by the ED on Thursday, a day before his bail plea in the CBI case.

On March 8, Sisodia also tweeted that till today he had heard that when schools open in the country, jails are closed; But now these people have started jailing only those who opened schools in the country.

The former Deputy CM was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on February 26 in connection with his alleged involvement in the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy scam. The Aam Aadmi Party has accused the BJP-led Centre, alleging that its only objective is to defame its party.

Meanwhile, the ED is also interrogating Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader K Kavitha in the same case. She has appeared before the court and may be made to sit face-to-face with Hyderabad-based businessman Arun Pillai, who was arrested by the ED on Monday night.

The ED alleged that Arun Pillai is the key accused of the South Cartel group. K Kavitha and other members of the South group benefitted from kickbacks after Delhi’s now-scrapped liquor policy came into force, said ED.

The South Group comprises Kavitha, Sarath Reddy (promoter of Aurobindo Group), Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy (MP, Ongole), his son Raghav Magunta, and others.
