The colourful folk dances, beautiful floats, and traditional music lit up the streets of Calangute on the second day of the Shigmotsav festival. The grand Shigmo parade was flagged off by Calangute MLA Michael Lobo in the presence of other esteemed dignitaries, including Joseph Sequeira, sarpanch of Calangute.
The parade witnessed a beautiful fancy dress competition by children dressed as mythological characters and conveying social messages. An energetic Dhol Tasha performance further impressed the crowd. The evening was full of enjoyment for the public, including Romtamel, Chitrarat, folk dance, and Gulal. The locals and tourists also got to enjoy a special live orchestra at the Baga circle.
Overall, the Shigmotsav festival in Calangute was a resounding success, with the vibrant cultural performances, beautiful floats, and lively music capturing the hearts of both locals and tourists alike.
