India has become the third largest start-up ecosystem in the world, said Union Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports, Information & Broadcasting, Anurag Thakur at an event in Pune on Saturday.
He was speaking at the fourth Youth 20 (Y 20) Consultation meeting under the G 20 Presidency of India, an event supported by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, at Symbiosis International University’s Campus at Lavale.
“India’s economy is the world’s fastest growing large economy. It has come a long way from the fragile five to the top five economies in the world. In the last eight years, India has become the third largest start-up ecosystem in the world,” said Thakur.
He added, “India was considered a country that asks for help but in recent years, it has become a country that helps others. During the Covid pandemic, the whole world had experienced a humanity crisis. During that period, developed countries were not ready to come forward and help others, but India helped other nations by providing them vaccines to prevent the spread of the virus.”
