Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar responds to Rahul Gandhi’s mike allegation, says nothing can be untrue
The statements by the Vice President of India comes as a rebuttal to the claims made by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on the Centre deliberately turning off the microphones.

Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankar while addressing an event on ayurveda in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut responded to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s claim on the mike issue. The Vice President in his address thwarted claims by the Congress leader and termed Gandhi’s claims to be untrue.
Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar in his statement said that a narrative is set by some people about microphones being switched off in the parliament of the world’s largest democracy. He further said that nothing can be more untrue than this.
Dhankar, in his address, also requested the Patanjali Managing director Balakrishna to make a medicine that can restore the dignity of the parliament. The Vice President also said that the conduct in parliament and legislative assemblies need to be exemplary. He further said and added that no hindrances should be caused there.
The statements by the Vice President of India comes as a rebuttal to the claims made by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on the Centre deliberately turning off the microphones. The Congress leader in his talk held in London talked about his experience as a politician in India and claimed that the microphones in the house are functioning properly, however, the voice of the Opposition can’t be reached as the Centre doesn’t turn them on.
The row between the Vice President and Rahul Gandhi on the microphone issue continued for the second day. Dhankar also targeted Rahul Gandhi for portraying India’s image in a bad light on foreign soil.
Most recently many BJP leaders questioned Rahul Gandhi’s statement in London and dubbed it to be portraying the nation in a bad light. However, Congress leaders came out to defend Gandhi over his remarks about India’s democracy being in danger under the BJP rule.
Rahul Gandhi was on a 10-day visit to London where he delivered a lecture in the Cambridge university, as well as, spoke to the Indian Journalist Association, according to reports.

The tweet comes a day after Sisodia was sent to the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) custody for seven days in the Delhi liquor policy scam.

Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who is currently lodged in Tihar Jail for his alleged connection in the Delhi excise policy scam, today tweeted that the probe agencies can put him in jail, can trouble him by keeping him in their custody but can’t break his spirit.
The AAP leader further referred to the pre-independence time when the British ruled the country. He tweeted the British also gave trouble to the freedom fighters but their spirits didn’t break, similarly, he will also stand strong.
The tweet comes a day after Sisodia was sent to the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) custody for seven days in the Delhi liquor policy scam. He was arrested by the ED on Thursday, a day before his bail plea in the CBI case.
On March 8, Sisodia also tweeted that till today he had heard that when schools open in the country, jails are closed; But now these people have started jailing only those who opened schools in the country.
The former Deputy CM was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on February 26 in connection with his alleged involvement in the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy scam. The Aam Aadmi Party has accused the BJP-led Centre, alleging that its only objective is to defame its party.
Meanwhile, the ED is also interrogating Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader K Kavitha in the same case. She has appeared before the court and may be made to sit face-to-face with Hyderabad-based businessman Arun Pillai, who was arrested by the ED on Monday night.
The ED alleged that Arun Pillai is the key accused of the South Cartel group. K Kavitha and other members of the South group benefitted from kickbacks after Delhi’s now-scrapped liquor policy came into force, said ED.
The South Group comprises Kavitha, Sarath Reddy (promoter of Aurobindo Group), Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy (MP, Ongole), his son Raghav Magunta, and others.

CBI summons Tejashwi Yadav for questioning in land-for-job scam case
According to the reports, Yadav is yet to arrive at CBI headquarters in the land for job case. The case is related to the employment given to candidates in return of transfer of land to Lalu Yadav and his family, as well as his close aids.

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav was summoned by the Central Bureau of Investigation in the land-for-job scam case on Saturday. The call by the probe agency comes after Deputy Chief Minister’s mother and father Lalu Yadav and Rabri Devi was questioned by the CBI recently.
As per the reports, Bihar’s Deputy CM failed to appear before the probe agency on March 4, following which the central agency summoned the Rashtriya Janata Dal leader on Saturday. Yadav was asked to appear before the probe agency in the afternoon.
According to the reports, Yadav is yet to arrive at CBI headquarters in the land for job case. The case is related to the employment given to candidates in return of transfer of land to Lalu Yadav and his family, as well as his close aids.
RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and family-associates have been at the receiving end of the heat by the Central agencies in the land for job scam. Recently, CBI reached the residence of former Bihar CM and wife of Lalu Yadav on Monday to question her about the case.
It was reported that probe agency questioned Rabri Devi at her Patna residence and subsequently questioned RJD supremo Lalu Yadav in Delhi. As per the reports, the actions by the CBI also stirred up a political conversation amongst the Opposition parties who slammed the Centre for using the Central Agencies for political benefits.
The Enforcement Directorate had also raided several places in land-for-job case on Friday. As per the reports, The ED recovered Rs 53 lakh in cash whereas 1900 USD has also been recovered from Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughters’ and son’s residence.
8 Opposition parties wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the use of Central Agencies as a political whip against the opposition. The Oppositon parties in their letter slammed the Centre for the use of probe agencies and termed their actions to be a bid of transition democracy to an autocracy.
The letter by Opposition came after the CBI arrested the Delhi’s Deputy CM Manish Sisodia in the now scrapped liquour policy. The letter was signed by BRS chief and Telangana CM Chandrasekhar Rao, JKNC chief Farooq Abdullah, AITC chief Mamata Banerjee, NCP chief Sharad Pawar, Uddhav Thackeray, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, Bihar Deputy CM and RJD chairperson Tejashwi Yadav and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav

Karnataka Congress working president R Dhruvanarayana, 61, dies after chest pain
He is survived by his wife and his two sons.

Karnataka Congress working president and former MP R Dhruvanarayana breathed his last on Saturday morning. The Chamarajanagar constituency MP passed away after he complained of chest pain. He was 61.
According to the reports, Dhruvanarayana’s driver took him to the DRMS Hospital in Mysuru after he suffered chest pain at around 6:40 pm. An MSc in agriculture graduate was brought to the hospital at 7:40 am and was declared dead at 8:28 am. He is survived by his wife and his two sons.
Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge, MP Rahul Gandhi, and other leaders condoled his demise.
Kharge tweeted, Deeply anguished & pained by the passing away of R Dhruvanarayana. He was not just a grassroots political, but the finest human being. He said Dhruvanarayana’s demise is not just a loss for Congress but a huge personal loss for him as well. He said his thoughts are with his family and followers, he added.
Rahul Gandhi called Dhruvanarayana’s demise a huge loss to the party. Saddened by the sudden demise of former MP, Shri R Dhruvanarayan. A hard-working & humble grassroots leader, he was a champion of social justice who rose through the ranks of NSUI & Youth Congress. His passing is a huge loss to the Congress party. My condolences to his family, the Congress President tweeted.
Srinivas BV, National President of the Indian Youth Congress tweeted, Shocked and saddened beyond words. He said his heart breaks at the loss of a leader like R Dhruvanarayana ji, Former MP and KPCC Working President. May his soul find peace. His support and prayers are with his family, friends and all workers, he added.
Dhruvanrayana represented the Chamarajanagar Lok Sabha constituency twice. In the 2004 state assembly election, he won from the Santemarahalli (SC) assembly constituency by a single vote. He was planning to contest from Nanjangud (SC) constituency in the upcoming state elections.
