Watch video: Makeshift flying car takes flight before crashing to the ground!
Flying cars are still a thing of the future, but it's something we keep hearing from time to time. More and more companies are working towards developing cars that can take flight and fly in the air in a bid to decongest roads. Here's another attempt at building a flying car, one that actually works with the help of some makeshift equipment.

In the video, an old hatchback can be seen tied with a rope to the vehicle driving in front, probably to keep it from going astray while it 'flies'. A huge propeller has been mounted at the top of the car, which looks like it has been taken from a helicopter. As the speed of the propeller increases, the hatchback takes a flight and is in the air for a while, clinging on to the rope.
However, the joy-flight soon goes south, with the car hitting the runway, and then crashing down instantly. The hatchback takes some heavy damage from the crash, while the propeller is damaged too. It is not clear from the video if someone was inside the flying car, while the original source of the video is also unknown.

We previously reported about a flying car prototype that was built by California-based electric transportation company called Alef. The company even went on to say that they plan to launch the flying electric car in the market as soon as 2025. Called the Model A, Alef says it will have a driving range of 200 miles (322 km) and a flying range of 100 miles (177 km).
