GFP slams CM, wife for rising LPG prices

Panaji: Goa Forward Party’s women wing condemned BJP Mahila Morcha incharge and chief minister Pramod Sawant’s wife Sulakshana for attributing the high LPG cylinder rates to international crude prices.
GFP’s mahila wing incharge Nimisha Faleiro pointed out that that the state government had promised free LPG gas cylinders for each household before the elections. GFP questioned why BJP is not speaking about the free gas cylinders.
“BJP is fooling the people of Goa,” Faleiro said. “International crude prices have actually declined by $6.”
She said that when LPG prices had increased to Rs 410 in 2014, BJP MP and current Union minister Smriti Irani used to hit the road to protest.
“If international crude prices have increased, how come chief minister Pramod Sawant is flying in a private jet to Kolhapur, Solapur and Andaman islands,” said Faleiro.
GFP said the Centre’s policies are purely to be blamed for the increase in LPG prices. “We feel that BJP has not done its homework correctly. GFP is concerned and sensitive about people, but this government has no concern for the poor,” Faleiro said.
