Mahindra recently launched the updated XUV 300 with RDE complaint Petrol and Diesel engines. The price for the SUV starts from Rs 8.41 lakh and goes up to Rs 14.14 (ex-showroom). Mahindra XUV competes with Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger and Maruti Brezza. In this article let’s compare the Fronx with Mahindra XUV 300.
First, let’s compare the dimensions, the XUV 300 measures 3995 mm in length, 1821 mm in width, 1617 mm in height and 2600 mm in wheelbase. XUV 300 has a boot space of 257 litres and a 5.3 m of turning radius. Talking about the Maruti Brezza, the SUV measures 3995 mm in length, 1790 mm in width, 1640 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2500 mm. Brezza has a boot space of 328 litres and 5.2 meters.
The XUV 300 and Brezza have an identical length of 3995 mm. XUV has 31 mm of extra width and 100 mm more wheelbase whereas the Brezza has 23 mm of extra height and 71 litres of extra boot space.
Talking about the exterior differences, the Brezza gets LED DRLs with LED headlamps whereas the XUV 300 gets LED DRLs with Halogen projector headlamps. Both cars also get an LED tail lamp setup with rear wipers and a washer. The XUV 300 gets 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels whereas the Brezza gets 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. Additionally, the XUV 300 features rear disc breaks.
Moving on to the interior, both SUVs get a dual-tone interior scheme. In terms of features, Brezza gets automatic LED headlamps with DRLs, SmartPlay Pro+ 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connected car tech, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, 360-degree camera, Arkamys-tuned sound system, cruise control, height-adjustable driver’s seat, automatic AC, rear AC vents, auto-dimming IRVM, HUD display, electric sunroof, 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP with hill-hold assist and wireless charging for smartphones.
Talking about the features offered with XUV 300, the SUV gets an automatic headlamp and wipers, auto-dimming IRVM, 7.0-inch infotainment with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, cruise control, electric sunroof, height-adjustable driver’s seat with seat belt height adjustment, Dual zone AC, front parking sensors, TPMS, rear armrest, sunroof, steering modes, 7 airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, Traction control and rear disc brakes.
Now let’s talk about powertrain and gearbox options, the XUV 300 is available in 3 engine options - a 1.5-litre diesel and 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engines in two states of tune. The 1.5-litre diesel produces 115 bhp of power and a class-leading 300 Nm of torque. The 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine produces 108 bhp of power and 200 Nm of torque. The same engine with a different tune produces 128 bhp of power and 230 Nm of torque and is offered with Turbosport variants.
Moving on to the Maruti Brezza, the SUV is available with a single engine option - a 1.5-litre, NA petrol engine which produces 103 bhp of power and 135 Nm of torque. Gearbox options include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter.

Finally talking about the variants and pricing, the XUV 300 is available in W4, W6, W8 and W8 (O). The price for the diesel version starts from Rs 9.60 lakh and goes up to 14.06 lakh. The price for the petrol version starts from Rs 8.41 lakh and goes up to 13.21 lakh. The price for the Turbosport variants starts from Rs 10.35 lakh and goes up to 12.90 lakh (All prices Ex-showroom).
The Brezza is available LXi, VXi, ZXi and ZXi Plus. The price for the SUV starts from Rs 8.19 lakh and goes up to 14.04 lakh (ex-showroom).
