AMARAVATI: Taking strong exception to the CID "torturing" retired bureaucrat Arja Srikanth in the "guise" of the investigation, former minister and senior TDP leader Kanna Lakshminarayana dared the
Andhra Pradesh government to put the documents in the public domain if it had guts.
He said that the state government is utilizing the CID as a weapon to harass the opposition leaders and officials who did not pay heed to their advice.
Speaking to the media in Amaravati on Friday, Kanna Lakshminarayana found fault with the CID officials for bringing AP State Skill Development Corporation's (APSSDC) former managing director Arja Srikanth from New Delhi to torture him for giving a fair report on the issue.
He said that Srikanth, was targeted even after his retirement from the service as he had not succumbed to the pressure from the government and made it clear that there were no irregularities in the implementation of MoU signed with the Siemens.
He said that the state government is hell bent to implicate the senior TDP leaders with false charges and expected a favourable report from Srikanth when he worked as MD. To the utter shock of the government, Srikanth turned down the allegations of misappropriation of funds and left the state service, which made him the target of CM.
“I have worked with five chief ministers including YS Rajasekhara Reddy, father of present chief minister. I have never seen a chief minister (YS Jagan) using CID to torture the opposition leaders and officials who did not take his instructions seriously,” alleged.
