Stock market update: Sugar stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading higher on Friday at 10:55AM

Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals(up 6.60%), Mawana Sugars(up 4.39%), Rana Sugars(up 4.22%), DCM Shriram Industries(up 3.69%), Sakthi Sugars(up 3.29%), Ugar Sugar Works(up 2.91%), Dhampur Sugar Mills(up 2.66%), KCP Sugar & Industries(up 2.47%), Vishwaraj Sugar Industries(up 2.18%) and MAGADHSUGAR(up 2.12%) were among the top gainers.

Dharani Sugars & Chemicals(down 0.51%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 181.45 points down at 17408.15, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 683.56 points at 59122.72 at around 10:55AM.

Tata Motors(up 0.93%), Britannia Industries(up 0.66%), ITC(up 0.39%), Divis Laboratories(up 0.35%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 0.17%), NTPC(up 0.14%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 0.11%), UPL Ltd(up 0.07%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 0.07%) and Bharti Airtel(up 0.06%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(down 2.45%), HDFC(down 2.25%), HDFC Bank(down 2.17%), Adani Enterprises(down 1.9%), Larsen & Toubro(down 1.83%), State Bank of India(down 1.7%), Axis Bank(down 1.7%), ICICI Bank(down 1.54%), Reliance Industries(down 1.43%) and Mahindra & Mahindra(down 1.3%) were trading in the red.
