The Indian army has installed the national flag on a 100-foot high pole in once terrorists infested Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir. The army also honoured the next of kin of soldiers who died in the service of the nation. Members from the civil society were also honoured for their contributions towards nation building. Locals who had gathered in large numbers to witness the historic event expressed gratitude to the army. Set amid the beautiful and salubrious hills of Doda, the flag, the army hopes, will inculcate a sense of nationalism in the local populace.
