Denied breakfast, ‘hangry’ man bites off wife’s finger

Vadodara: Vadodara: Refusal to serve her husband breakfast cost a woman her finger. In the horrifying incident that took place in the city, accused Naresh Maachi allegedly bit off one finger of his wife Champa’s hand over her refusal to make breakfast for him. While it happened in January this year, the woman has registered a complaint only now against the man at Bapod police station after recovering from her injury.
The woman told the police that on January 2 morning, Naresh asked her to make breakfast and tea. However, she refused and instead told her unemployed husband not to waste time and find some job. At this, Naresh lost his temper and went into the kitchen where the duo got into a heated argument.
Blind with rage, Naresh bit her left hand’s finger following which she screamed for help. But by then, the upper portion of her finger had already come off. She sought help of her 15-year-old daughter and they went to a hospital in Panigate area where the doctors performed surgery on the finger immediately. After recovering, Champa finally approached the police with a formal complaint.
