Rajasthan: Out of 1,763 newly appointed doctors, 1,715 to join duties in rural areas by March 15

JAIPUR: Of 1,763 new doctors recruited, 1,715 will join duties in rural Rajasthan by March 15. This is for the first time doctors have been given choice for posting through online Rajhealth portal, an innovation of the state government for inter-departmental end-to-end solution. They have been given posting in rural areas for benefit of patients who need to cover distances for treatment.
“Through the online platform, selected candidates were asked to fill their choices of posting. The joining of the doctors will also be done through the same portal,” said Dr Ravi Prakash Mathur, director (health), health department.
According to the health department, out of 1,763 new postings of doctors, 943 have been posted at primary health centres (PHCs), which will ensure that all PHCs will have availability of doctors, 772 have been posted at community health centres (CHCs), of which 112 are specialists.
In addition, 39 specialist doctors have been deployed at sub-district hospitals.
Nine specialist doctors, including two super specialists, have been deployed at the district hospitals. Health department officials said posting of 1,715 doctors in rural areas will strengthen healthcare facilities for patients.
