Stellantis will allocate production of vehicles on its STLA Large platform to its factory in Cassino, southern Italy, CEO Carlos Tavares said on a visit to the plant.
The factory builds cars for the group’s premium brands, Maserati and Alfa Romeo. Stellantis said in a news release Thursday that the models on the new platform would be announced “at a later date.”
STLA Large is a forthcoming “BEV-centric” platform that will underpin medium and large cars, including future Alfa Romeo models such as the next-generation Giulia midsize sedan and Stelvio midsize SUV, CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato told Automotive New Europe in an interview in 2022.
