Actor-producer-director Satish Kaushik passed away this morning in Delhi and his friend and actress Kaveta Chaudhry is in deep shock. The two have been neighbours for many years in Versova and they also studied together in the same batch at National School of Drama, Pune.
Sharing an interesting piece of information, Kaveta said, "I had cast Satish in my show Udaan (1989) twice. In one of the episodes, he played a police inspector and in another episode he played a regular guy, who bottom slaps an IAS officer, played by me in the show. He told me, 'How can I play another role in the same show?' But I knew that he suited the role very much and hence decided to cast him again."
Talking about that episode, she shares, "In those days, the scene was discussed a lot because a similar real-life incident was in the news. Satishji was very awkward doing that scene, so he agreed to just hit me on the back."
Kaveta shared how they have been friends and neighbours for many years now. She said, "Just the day before yesterday, he shared his Holi pictures with me. Anupamji (Kher) responded with a thank you voice note since it was his birthday and then Satish sent me his holi pictures. For many years, I called him Kaushik and then later I started calling him Satish. He was very regular about his walks and even when he returned late from his shoots, he would go for his morning walks. And I would scream from the balcony to take it easy! I remember how my house help used to get alkaline water from his house and 'mere ghar mein sab bolte the Satishji wala paani aaya hai.'"
Kaveta has just penned a poetry for her friend and posted on Twitter. She shared, "I will miss him a lot because he was a dear friend and was concerned about me."
