Jaipur: AICC Gujarat in-charge and former minister Raghu Sharma MLA has demanded that the Congress leadership should step in to defuse groupism in
Rajasthan Congress before the assembly elections, which are just 6-8 months away. If groupism ends, Congress victory in Rajasthan is certain, Sharma said.
“If Congress goes to the polls united, it will definitely win. A message should go out to the public that the Congress is united. The party high command should address the issues and I am sure a solution will be found,” he said while speaking to the media on the party’s prospects in the upcoming assembly elections this year.
Sharma said though the media talks about groupism in Congress, the BJP is in its worst shape in Rajasthan. “It is divided into multiple groups. No three leaders could share a dias, that is the situation in the BJP,” he alleged.
“The BJP could not even select an opposition leader. Gulab Chand Kataria resigned on February 16 and till now no opposition leader has been be announced. They will not announce it as he would automatically become the party’s face in the next elections,” claimed Sharma.
Sharma said in order to spoil the meeting of former chief minister Vasundhara Raje at Salasar in Churu on March 4 , the party announced a dharna at Civil Lines on the same day. He alleged that though it was announced as a Yuva Morcha programme against paper leaks, it was more of a BJP programme as the youths were missing.
He also demanded the formation of new districts, including Kekri, the constituency that he represents.
Sharma said the state government has made decentralisation at the grassroots by announcing new ADM offices, SDOs and blocks.
