Another shot by PSG. Another save by Sommer. This one was from Mbappe from the left side, and with a tough angle. Sommer gets down and saves it easily.
SOMMER DENIES RAMOS! That was a top-class header moving into the right corner but Sommer says ‘not on my watch’. PSG gets another corner.
CHOUPO-MOTING! This time there is no flag! Bayern draws first blood. Verratti commits the blunder. He has far too many bodies to get past and he loses the ball to Musiala in his own penalty area. Musiala hands it over to Muller, who then squares it to Choupo-Moting. He has just the keeper to beat and he fires it home.
Goretzka’s header goes over! He is the tallest from the set piece but just not able to keep it down.
Goretzka’s shot wins a corner for Bayern. He got a pass from Muller, turned and let it fly.
CHOUPO-MOTING SCORES! Bayern goes 1-0 ahead! No, he doesn’t. The assistant raises his flag. Galtier and his side will heave a huge sigh of relief. Moting’s header goes past Donnarumma in goal but it turns out the last touch was from Muller, who was offside. The barest of margin to save the visitor.
Oh what is going on here? Choupo-Moting is sent through on goal by Musiala’s through pass. He takes to long to shoot and Danilo muscles the ball off him. Bayern still retains the ball but Choupo-Moting is in an offside position and interfering in play.
Now it is PSG which ascends. Mbappe with a shot on the turn from the edge of the box only to ram it into a red shirt.
Bayern again finds space and bodies in its opposition’s half but the final delivery in the box lets it down.
Off we go for the next 45 minutes. PSG has another change. Another one forced on it. Mukiele goes off and on comes Bitshiabu.
The first half has absolutely flown away. It has been end-to-end and contested at frantic pace. There are nice little one-vs-one battles stemming for the second half. PSG might be thinking it could have gotten parity with the two chances - one to Messi and one to Vitinha - but it still has one half to achieve that. This has all the makings of a roller coaster battle in the second half. Stay Tuned!

Goretzka yet again with a crucial contribution. Messi sets off on a dribble and has space ahead. Goretzka covers ground and barges in with a shoulder tackle. It is well-timed and precise and wins the ball for Bayern.
Now Bayern with a chance. The move goes down to Goretzka’s artistry. The German pierces the midfield and then taps a pass into Davies’ path. Davies tries to take a shot even through the narrow angle and the attempt is blocked away for a corner.
CLEARED OFF THE LINE! DE LIGT WITH THE SAVE! UNREAL! Sommer commits a howler and gives the ball straight to Vitinha. With the goal empty, Vitinha taps the ball goalwards before the Dutch defender saves his teammate with a goal-line clearance.
Early change for PSG. Captain Marquinhos has to go off with a rib injury and Mukiele comes in his place.
Nuno Mendes fouls Coman on the right wing and Bayern has a chance to create a dangerous set piece. Kimmich goes for a low delivery and Donnarumma is able to collect it without trouble.
SAVED! The first clear chance for Bayern. Davies and Musiala combine with a one-two move and Musiala fires in a shot with his left foot. Donnarumma is equally up to the task and blocks the shot with his left hand.
Bayern has a numeric advantage in the opposition half when Musiala tries to change wings. He overhits the ball it goes out for a PSG throw in.
27 minutes completed in the half and PSG has had the better chances and more of the ball. Nothing to show for it though..
CHANCE! Messi gets the ball in the penalty area and has a chance to shoot. Davies sticks in a leg to block the most clear opportunity. Messi tries another couple of shots but Sommer ultimately gathers the ball.
Nuno Mendes’ cross from the left wing is cleared by de Ligt.
Some afters between Hakimi and Goretzka after the latter fouls Messi. Referee on spot to see it cool off.
A bit of Messi flair as he skips past a couple of Bayern shirts. Mbappe luckily gets the mishit pass in the final third. But the forward with some rare poor control fails to really trouble Sommer in goal.
Hakimi wins a corner for PSG but the set piece yields nothing for the side.
PSG has a chance to counter. Vitinha with the ball sees Hakimi opening in space. The intent is right but the Portuguese overhits the pass.
Davies is threatening to enter the PSG penalty area from the left wing until Verratti wins the possession with a sliding tackle.
Mbappe is again the target man. Ramos with an overhead pass over Upamecano’s head. Mbappe ends up colliding with an on-rushing Sommer in the chase, and Bayern gets a free kick.
A good move by PSG. Verratti goes for a direct pass to Mbappe. The Frenchman collects, holds and plays it to Messi. Messi opens the play wide to Hakimi. The right back tries a cross but overhits to give a goal kick to Bayern.
PSG with a back four persisting on building from the back. Messi tries another dribble, this time from a deeper position, but is bullied away by a shoulder push.
PSG controls the ball in its half but under immense pressure. Choupo-Moting then fouls Verratti which allows some breathing space for the away team.
Messi tries a dribble on his first involvement. He thinks of putting Mbappe through with a slided delivery but Upamecano blocks the path.
Bayern now with possession close to the PSG penalty area. The defence is able to clear the danger though.
A first threat by PSG! Mbappe with ample space in the final third and he charges forward. He takes the ball wide into the penlaty area and tries to square it. Sommer has no trouble gathering it.
We’re underway at the Allianz Arena and the home side gets to see more of the ball in the opening minute.
The much awaited Champions League anthem plays in the stadium. The players then proceed for the handshakes. We’re all set for the clash.
The players are in the tunnel and will be on the pitch any moment.
Bayern sealed a 2-1 victory over Stuttgart this weekend to maintain its place at the top of the Bundesliga. It is level on points with Borussia Dortmund but has a far superior goal difference allowing to keep its nose ahead.

Paris chose the hard way to emerge victorious over the weekend. It first squandered a two-goal lead and allowed Nantes to square 2-2, before scoring twice in the second half and take the three points home.

Bayern Munich has been fined nearly 45,000 Euros after its fans unfurled offensive banners and caused disturbance during the first leg match against PSG at the Parc des Princes.

Kylian Mbappe became the all-time leading scorer for Paris Saint Germain over the weekend. He will be donning these beauties during the match today. A tribute to his tally of goals with Les Parisiens.
While he may have made heads turn in previous seasons, this is the year when Jamal Musiala has truly shone at the biggest stage. In Bundesliga, Musiala has registered 11 goals and eight assists. He particularly impressed at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar despite Germany’s early exit.
Bayern Munich, despite its early struggles in the season, has found its footing at the right time. It finds itself back on the top of the Bundesliga and is just one win away from moving into the quarterfinals of the Champions League.
Lionel Messi has contributed eight goals in the Champions League this season - four goals and four assists. He has further created 16 chances. Slightly underwhelming, given his lofty standards? Tonight’s match will be an opportune moment for the little magician to step up and win his side the tie.

So far, Benfica and Chelsea have advanced to the next round of the UEFA Champions League. Benfica thrashed Club Brugge 7-1 on aggregate while Chelsea turned a 0-1 deficit and triumphed 2-0 at Stamford Bridge to advance.
Kylian Mbappe is back and fully fit for the second leg against Bayern Munich. The Frenchman had played only the second half of the first leg due to an injury. His pace and services in front of goal will be dearly needed by the travelling PSG side.
Bayern Munich is leading the overall tie thanks to a solitary goal from Kingsley Coman in the first leg. Benjamin Pavard got a red card in the first leg and will be out of today’s match.
Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann wants his team to “get at” Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League. Kylian Mbappé wants to add more goals to his PSG scoring record.
They will get their chance on Wednesday when Bayern tries to defend its 1-0 lead in the second leg of the round of 16.
Bayern won the first leg in Paris with a goal from former PSG player Kingsley Coman, but the team’s approach in the return match will be closely watched.
Both teams are without key players ahead of Wednesday’s game.
Bayern remains without goalkeeper Manuel Neuer and defender Lucas Hernández, both long-term absentees, and fullback Noussair Mazraoui is in training but has not played since the World Cup. Another defender, Benjamin Pavard, is suspended after he was sent off in stoppage time in the first leg and is set to be replaced by Josip Stanišić.
PSG is without Neymar after the Brazilian was ruled out for the rest of the season on Monday with an ankle injury, but Mbappé and Lionel Messi each scored in the 4-2 win over Nantes on Saturday. Mbappé became the club’s all-time leading scorer with 201 goals, breaking a tie with Edinson Cavani.
Right back Achraf Hakimi is in PSG’s squad for the game after he was given preliminary charges in a rape investigation last week. The 24-year-old Hakimi missed the last three French league games with injury.
