Stock market update: Sugar stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading lower on Thursday at 11:01AM

Triveni Engineering & Industries(up 0.91%), DCM Shriram Industries(up 0.58%) and Balrampur Chini Mills(up 0.49%) were among the top gainers.

Rana Sugars(down 5.33%), Mawana Sugars(down 4.90%), Sakthi Sugars(down 3.98%), Shree Renuka Sugars(down 3.66%), BAJAJHIND(down 3.09%), K.M.Sugar Mills(down 3.04%), KCP Sugar & Industries(down 2.56%), Ugar Sugar Works(down 2.55%), Dhampur Sugar Mills(down 2.40%) and Kothari Sugars & Chemicals(down 2.29%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 58.55 points down at 17695.85, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 186.39 points at 60161.7 at around 11:01AM.

Cipla(up 1.67%), Tata Steel(up 1.64%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(up 1.55%), Bharti Airtel(up 1.4%), NTPC(up 1.37%), Axis Bank(up 1.21%), Hindalco Industries(up 1.19%), Larsen & Toubro(up 0.9%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 0.79%) and Bajaj Auto(up 0.4%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Adani Enterprises(down 4.45%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 2.3%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 2.0%), Reliance Industries(down 1.5%), ITC(down 1.04%), SBI Life(down 0.97%), Tech Mahindra(down 0.9%), Hero MotoCorp(down 0.9%), Tata Consultancy(down 0.89%) and Eicher Motors(down 0.81%) were trading in the red.
