Share market update: Most active stocks on D-Street today in terms of volume

NEW DELHI: Excel Realty N Infr(number of shares traded: 1.56 crore), Suzlon Energy(number of shares traded: 1.48 crore), YES Bank(number of shares traded: 1.16 crore), JP Power(number of shares traded: 0.76 crore), Adani Power(number of shares traded: 0.69 crore), Hind Const Co(number of shares traded: 0.63 crore), Reliance Power(number of shares traded: 0.61 crore), GTL Infra(number of shares traded: 0.48 crore), Vodafone Idea(number of shares traded: 0.46 crore) and Alstone Textiles(number of shares traded: 0.37 crore) were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange at 11:22AM in Thursday's session.

The NSE Nifty index was trading 46.55 points down at 17707.85, while BSE Sensex was down 155.67 points at 60192.42 at the time of writing this report.

In the Nifty index, Cipla Ltd.(up 2.13 per cent), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(up 1.90 per cent), Tata Steel Ltd.(up 1.78 per cent), Bharti Airtel Ltd.(up 1.59 per cent) and NTPC Ltd.(up 1.34 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Adani Enterprises Ltd.(down 4.93 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 2.22 per cent), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(down 2.09 per cent), Reliance Industries Ltd.(down 1.52 per cent) and SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 1.47 per cent) were among the top losers in the index.
