What should Denver leaders do to address the city’s lack of affordable housing?
– Address permitting delays, considering fee waivers or reductions when appropriate, and leverage vacant city-owned property
– Expand property tax relief and emergency rent assistance programs, provide tax credits for building upgrades, and create community land trusts
– Allow for ADUs citywide, invest in down payment assistance programs, and help connect prospective homeowners to affordable credit

Do you support redevelopment at the Park Hill golf course property? Why or why not?
I do not support the current PHGC development plans. We should protect our finite green space and ensure that any use of this land truly benefits the entire city and our taxpayers.

Should neighborhoods help absorb population growth through permissive zoning, or do you favor protections for single-family neighborhoods?
Yes, we should create a complete spectrum of housing affordability and as many neighborhoods as possible, with a focus on adding density near existing transit and services

Should the city’s policy of sweeping homeless encampments continue unchanged? Why or why not?
We should stop the inhumane sweeps. Sweeps waste precious resources by simply moving our unhoused neighbors from place to place, do not address root cause issues, and rob people of their basic dignity as human beings.

What’s your vision for Denver in 20 years, and what would you do to help the city get there?
– A place where regular people can once again afford to work and live in
– A place where people can expect to enjoy, raise a family, and grow old, free of any fears of crime or harm
– A place that prioritizes being a city in a park and protects our precious resources for future generations
I will show up and listen to the community, pass substantive legislation, and ensure that our city’s budget reflects our shared values to chip away at making this vision a reality

– Reduce the amounts of cars on the street and create better public transit options
– Plant more native trees
– Conserve and protect our precious water resources
– Encourage the use of recycled building materials in new developments
