Alnylam and Medison Pharma extend partnership to Europe

- Alnylam Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:ALNY) and Medison Pharma have decided to expand their existing collaboration for RNA interference therapeutics to several Central and Eastern European countries, the companies announced Thursday.
- The multi-regional agreement will cover countries including Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Lithuania, Estonia, and Latvia, in addition to Israel.
- The revised deal will further expand the market access for Alnylam's (ALNY) RNAi therapeutics, such as ONPATTRO (patisiran), GIVLAARI (givosiran), and OXLUMO (lumasiran) in Europe.
- Polish authorities have already cleared GIVLAARI and OXLUMO for reimbursement, and the companies have agreed to work together to secure additional reimbursements.
- "We are delighted to extend our existing relationship with Medison, which will enable us to enhance our presence and bring the benefits of Alnylam's innovative RNAi therapeutics to patients in Central and Eastern Europe," Alnylam's (ALNY) Senior Vice-President Norton Oliveira said.
