Domestic tourists celebrate Holi by the sea in South Goa

COLVA: Colours, sun, sand and sea are definitely an exciting combination. And for domestic tourists, Holi is yet another reason to celebrate life.
Several domestic tourists have arrived in Goa to celebrate the festival of colours by the seaside and they are not wasting a minute to soak in whatever Goa has to offer.
Neelam Chordekar, who is part of a Jain family from Rajasthan, drove down to Goa to revel in Holi by the Benaulim beachside. The family was equipped with gulal packets of various colours, water guns and even a dhol. Their holi celebrations began at 7.30am with them frolicking in the sea while smearing one another with colours and water.
"Holi is a time when people set aside their differences and come together to celebrate with family, friends, and strangers. It is a festival that is enjoyed by people of all ages, and it is marked by enthusiasm and excitement. What better place to celebrate it than in Goa?" Chordekar said.
A little distance ahead, a family from Punjab was also rejoicing in the festivities, going so far as to engage professional cameramen to capture the moments of their celebration.
A member of the family, Manpreet, said they are in Goa for a week-long vacation, which includes celebrating Holi, while not forgetting to soak in the sun, sand and sea. "Holi is one of the marvellous festivals in India that spreads the message of love and togetherness," he said.
