Police arrested a 42-year-old man for allegedly abusing and assaulting a traffic constable for reportedly towing away his friend's scooter parked on Chapel Road in the no-parking zone on Monday.
MUMBAI: Police arrested a 42-year-old man for allegedly abusing and assaulting a traffic constable for reportedly towing away his friend's scooter parked on Chapel Road in the no-parking zone on Monday.
The incident occurred at 4.20pm when the accused, Mohammed Nahim Khan, had an argument and charged at police constable Sriram Pawar (42) after waylaying the tow vehicle and twisting his hand for taking away his friend's scooter.
The matter worsened when Khan got annoyed at Pawar, attached with the Bandra traffic police, for asking him to pay Rs 736 as no-parking fine. "Khan was arrested for hurling abuses and attacking Pawar. Others present at the spot overpowered him and called the police," said a Khar police station officer.
