CHENNAI: A pregnant woman from Chennai's neighbouring district Tiruvallur gave birth to a girl baby in a 108 ambulance while she was being shifted to hospital on Tuesday.
Jenifer from Arungulam in Tiruttani experienced labour pain on Tuesday evening. Her relatives called up 108 emergency ambulance service.
Halfway before reaching the local government hospital, Jenifer's labour pain became severe. So, the emergency medical technician (EMT) in the ambulance stopped the vehicle on the roadside and performed a safe delivery with the help of the woman's relatives.
Later, both the mother and the newborn were admitted to hospital where doctors confirmed that both were healthy.
