Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed higher in the Wednesday's session.

Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 5.28%), Sikko Industries(up 4.95%), Madras Fertlizers(up 4.35%), Khaitan Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 3.68%), National Fertilizer(up 3.43%), Southern Petrochemicals Industries(up 2.46%), Bohra Industries(up 2.45%), Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers(up 2.29%), Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 1.31%) and Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chem(up 1.12%) stood among the top gainers.

Rama Phosphates(down 2.37%), Madhya Bharat Agro Products(down 2.11%), Fertilizers & Chemicals Tranvancore(down 1.79%), KRISHANA(down 1.31%), Agro Phos(down 0.73%), G S F C(down 0.69%) and Coromandel International(down 0.52%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 42.95 points up at 17754.4, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 123.63 points at 60348.09.

IndusInd Bank(up 4.79%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 3.08%), Adani Enterprises(up 2.86%), Bajaj Auto(up 2.37%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 1.53%), Larsen & Toubro(up 1.38%), Eicher Motors(up 1.21%), NTPC(up 1.16%), ITC(up 1.09%) and HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 1.03%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Bajaj Finance(down 2.25%), Hindalco Industries(down 1.63%), Tech Mahindra(down 1.08%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(down 1.02%), Infosys(down 0.98%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.8%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 0.62%), HCL Technologies(down 0.54%), Divis Laboratories(down 0.43%) and Cipla(down 0.41%) closed in the red.
