Dozens of heavily armed police officers are searching for a man who they believe was at a home where a man was stabbed to death and a woman was seriously injured in Melbourne’s north on Wednesday morning.
Police were called to a house on Willoughby Street in Reservoir about 8.20am on Wednesday, where the 29-year-old man died.

Shaun Sanderson, 32, is on the run after an hours-long siege. Police initially believed he was still inside the home and attempted to negotiate with him.
After specialist officers entered the property, they discovered that he had fled.
Sanderson is about 175cm tall, has a medium build and is of Caucasian appearance. He has brown hair and a red beard.
The 65-year-old woman, who sustained upper body injuries, was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in serious condition.

Neighbour Pam Egan, 82, described the family who lived in the house as lovely, saying: “They were always friendly.”
Another neighbour, who did not want to be named, said around 30 to 40 police officers could be seen on the street at about 9am.
The exact circumstances of the incident are yet to be determined, but police believe all people involved knew each other.
Police did not know what Sanderson was wearing or whether he was armed when he fled the house, but released two images of him in their search for information on his whereabouts.
However, they emphasised members of the public should not approach Sanderson. Anyone who does see him should phone triple zero immediately, they said.
Detectives urged Sanderson to contact his nearest police station, and asked anyone with information on his whereabouts, or the incident in Reservoir, to phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
