Ponda: With the promotion of Angelica Leana Odetta Sarita Da Silva as the chief engineer, the public works department (PWD) has got its first woman chief engineer since Goa’s Liberation. Da Silva, who was working as the superintending surveyor at PWD’s Altinho head office has now been elevated as chief engineer of the buildings division of the department.
Da Silva will relieve present incumbent Santosh Mhapne from his additional charge of the division.
An order issued by principal chief engineer of the PWD Uttam Parsekar on Monday has also promoted A J George Pereira as chief engineer of roads and bridges wing of the national highways division. Pereira was working as the superintending engineer at the Altinho office.
