Stocks Open Near Flat Ahead of More Fed Testimony

Deeply inverted yield curve flashes recession signal

U.S. stocks opened with little change as investors awaited more congressional testimony by Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell and considered another signal of a hot labor market.

The S&P 500 inched lower less than 0.1% in early New York trading Wednesday, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average and Nasdaq Composite were up less than 0.1%.
