Ludhiana: Almost two weeks after a widow accused her father-in-law and mother-in-law of barging into her house in Basant Avenue and threatening her, Sadar police lodged an FIR against the couple.
The complainant, Roopdeep Kaur, is wife of Gagandeep Singh, owner of famous Lucky Bakery who was shot dead by his elder brother Palwinder Singh on October 11, 2021 following a property dispute. The woman alleged that her in-laws have been pressuring her not to pursue the case against Palwinder as she was a witness to the murder.
She said on February 17, she had gone to see an advocate and when she returned home, she found that in her absence her in-laws had broken the locks and barged into her house. They had locked the house from inside and did not allow her to enter. Later, she called up her parents, relatives and police.
Investigating officer from Sadar police station ASI Om Parkash said an FIR under Sections 451 (House-trespass in order to commit offence) and 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of
common intention) of the IPC has been lodged against the couple.
