Lady arrested for smoking onboard in Indigo Flight from Kolkata to Bengaluru

Bengaluru, 8 March : A woman identified as Priyanka Chakraborty was arrested by the police at Kempegowda International Airport for smoking in the toilet of an IndiGo flight from Kolkata to Bengaluru.

Priyanka Chakraborty, a 24-year-old from Sealda district in West Bengal, was caught smoking in the toilet of IndiGo flight 6E 716, which departed from Kolkata at 9:50 pm and arrived in Bangalore around 1 am. She was caught smoking 30 minutes before the flight landed.

When the flight crew suspected that Priyanka was smoking in the toilet, they asked her to open the door. A cigarette was found in the toilet dustbin, and the staff poured water into it. The flight captain declared Priyanka an unruly passenger. After the flight landed, the staff handed her over to the airport security department.

Shankar K, assistant manager of InterGlobe Aviation’s security department, filed a police complaint against Priyanka, and she was subsequently arrested for committing an act that endangered the life or personal safety of others.
