Sensex rises! But these stocks fell 5% or more in Wednesday's session

NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Wednesday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 123.63 points up at 60348.09 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.

On the BSE, SKP Securities(down 10.67 per cent), VMS Industries(down 10.38 per cent), Remi Edelstahl(down 10.25 per cent), DRA Consultants(down 10.22 per cent) and Sri Nachammai(down 10.11 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade.

In the Nifty pack, 31 stocks closed in the green, while 18 stocks ended in the red.

The index closed 42.95 points up at 17754.4.

On the BSE, Indong Tea Company Ltd., Sri Nachammai, Parsvnath Dev., Innovassynth Inv and Winsome Textile hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Rungta Irri(PP), Kirloskar Oil, Lohia Sec, Nicco Park Res and Majestic Auto touched their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade.
