VARANASI: The court of additional sessions judge (MP-MLA) Avanish Gautam on Monday rejected the bail plea of jailed mafia don and former MLA Vijay Mishra in A case of threatening a woman for withdrawing the gang rape case in which he is one of the accused persons. Apart from Vijay Mishra, 14 others are accused in this case lodged with Jaitpura police station of the district.
Additional district government counsel (criminal) Vinay Kumar Singh said, "This was the second bail plea moved by Vijay Mishra in the case of threatening a woman complainant in a gang rape case lodged with Jaitpura police station in 2021. The initial bail plea was also rejected. The court of additional sessions judge (MP-MLA)/special judge (anti-corruption) Avanish Gautam rejected the second bail plea also on Monday after hearing."
Jaitpura police had lodged a case under charges of criminal conspiracy, assault, attempt to murder, threatening and loot against Vijay Mishra and 13 other persons, including his son
Vishnu, daughters, nephews and other relatives including one Vikas in 2021 after the woman complainant in a gage rape case against him had allegedly raided her house and threatened her for withdrawing gang rape case.
Earlier, this woman had lodged a gang rape case with Bhadohi police in October 2020, alleging that she had been called to perform songs at the residence of Vijay Mishra in 2014 and when she was changing her clothes before the programme, he entered her room and raped after issuing threats of dire consequence. Later, he asked Vishnu and Vikas to drop her at her home but the duo took her to other building and raped her, she added.
The woman complainant had further alleged that in 2015, she was called by Vijay Mishra in Allapur area in Allahabad and later at a hotel of Varanasi where he raped her. She added that Vijay Mishra had made obscene video clips and also used to make video calls to force her for virtual sex. Upset over these activities, she had started living in Mumbai. She had also attached many clips and screenshots of her mobile with her complaint.
