Speeding truck runs over man fixing vehicle on Nashik's Dwarka flyover

NASHIK: A 35-year-old man, who was repairing his truck near the Dwarka chowk on the Mumbai-Agra National Highway, was run over by a speeding vehicle on Sunday evening.
The victim has been identified as Firoz Khan.
As per the complaint registered with the Panchavati police station, Khan’s truck developed a snag on the Dwarka flyover in front of Panchavati College. He got off the truck and decided to repair it by going under the vehicle. He was lying under the vehicle with only a part of his legs exposed on the road when the accident occurred.
Around 4pm, a speeding truck that was moving towards Dhule from the Mumbai side dashed the Khan’s truck and ran over his leg. The driver fled the scene.
Khan suffered serious injuries in the accident and succumbed to them.
The Panchavati police registered an FIR against the unidentified truck driver for an offence punishable under Section 304 (A) of the IPC for causing death due to negligence based on a complaint by Afzal Hamid Shaikh, a resident of Sant Kabir Nagar, Dwarka, who is a relative of Feroz Khan. Both trucks were severely damaged in the accident.
