Man throws acid on wife's partner in Ahmedabad

AHMEDABAD: A 34-year-old man along with his two aides on Saturday night threw acid on his wife's live-in partner and his friend when they were moving on a scooter in the Odhav area of the city.
Odhav police on Sunday caught the accused identified as Uttam Rajput from Nikol who had a grudge over his wife Sanju's live-in partner Ker Singh Rajput, 24, a shopkeeper from Odhav.
Ker Singh and his friend Kailash Mali were moving to their house on a scooter on Saturday night when three men on a motorcycle chased them and stopped them.
As Mali stopped his scooter, one of the three men, who was later identified as Uttam, threw acid on him but as he had worn a helmet that time, he could save his face and suffered burns on his chest, hands and shoulder.
Mali and Ker Singh were rushed to Civil Hospital and a medico-legal case was filed.
Odhav police registered a case of voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means and abetment.
Later, Odhav police arrested Uttam and three men are still on the run.
