Tamil Nadu CM Stalin interacts with guest workers, asks them not believe in rumours

MADURAI: Tamil Nadu chief minister M K Stalin interacted with guest workers from Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal employed in a gloves manufacturing unit situated in Tirunelveli’s Kavalkinaru on Tuesday. Among the 450 workers employed in the unit, 150 are guest workers including 30 women from these states.
Stalin interacted with them mainly in Tamil. Most workers he interacted with spoke Tamil. He interacted with a few of them in English, as well.
Stalin asked them if they were facing any hurdles working in Tamil Nadu and how many years they had been working in the state. He also asked them how the local people were interacting with them and if they were treated well in the state.
The workers said some of them had been working there for the last six years and most of them had been for almost two years. Many of them had brought their families from their native places.
They told the chief minister that local people maintained a friendly relationship with them and they felt very safe in Tamil Nadu. The guest workers said that the company where they were working provided them good food, accommodation and other amenities.
He requested the guest workers not to believe in rumours and assured them that the Tamil Nadu government was providing a safe working atmosphere to all the workers. Ministers K N Nehru, K K S S R Ramachandran and Mano Thangaraj, Kanam Latex Industries director Pravin Mathew and others were present during the visit.
